During December, the BMW Navigation system Professional is also included at no extra cost.
Note especially that the range extender (REX) has not been included. This means that it will “only” be possible to rely on the range that the batteries offer, but it also makes the car 260 pounds lighter and improves acceleration (0-62 mph in 7.2 s instead of 7.9 s). Moreover, it is an economic decision because REX costs 36 000 SEK extra, and would require service of an combustion engine in the future.
Some say that the resale value deteriorates negatively without REX, but I’m not at all convinced. Since I will keep the car for at least 3 years I think charging systems will be better developed by then. Also, I think a pure electric car will be tax-favored for a long time to come, while hybrids may lose some of its subsidies in the future (vehicle tax, congestion charges, parking, etc.). What do you think? Leave a comment!
Total cost of the car is approximately 320 000 SEK excl VAT (about 400 000 SEK incl VAT) . If an electric car is purchased by a physical person, it is still expensive to buy compared to other cars, even after the Swedish state environmental super premium of 40 000 SEK. However, if it is bought by a company it appears affordable because the taxable benefit is greatly reduced. A calculation will be reported later.
The car has been ordered in Sweden so all prices above are in Swedish crown SEK (1 EUR = 8.9 SEK in January 2014).

All research in economic psychology suggests that I will no longer be objective in my judgment. It is natural to defend a completed purchase when it has been made. I can only convey that I am well aware of the phenomenon and will do what I can to be as objective as possible.
